African Pride Wines

African Pride Wines was established in May 2002 as a specialized wine production and export division of Afrifresh Group, one of the largest exporters of South African table grapes and citrus. In 2015 the company was acquired by Libstar Holdings. With a large and diversified portfolio of 26 companies, Libstar is one of the fastest growing FMCG companies in South Africa, manufacturing and exporting alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cheese, mushrooms, condiments and spices, nuts, dried fruit and much more. In September 2017 is was bought by Make Graham and Harry Loebenstein.

We produce approximately 240,000 x 12 x 75cl per annum. Grapes and wines are sourced from contracted producers in Stellenbosch, Worcester, Wellington and Paarl. Bottling is contracted to a HACCP, BRC, IFS and ISO accredited facility and our logistics partner is JF Hillebrand. Our wines are produced in a sustainable manner and carry the ‘Integrity and Sustainability seal’.

Our winemaker Mike Graham is a very well know figure in the South African wine industry. He is a veteran of 37 harvests (and counting!) and was one of the first ‘flying winemakers’ in South Africa. His experience includes 7 years in France and he is regularly invited to judge both national and international wine competitions.

Our core brand is Footprint  and the portfolio includes a Chenin blanc/Semillon blend, Sauvignon blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage Rose, Merlot/Pinotage, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Mike journeyed through the vineyards of the Cape in pursuit of grapes that makes Footprint wines unique expressions of the flavour and taste of South Africa “To place your footprint upon this world you need to leave the well-trodden path. It is this urge, this search for something beyond the ordinary, that embodies the essence of Footprint wines”
